Here’s what to expect when fundraising on JoyFund:

Follow the prompts to set up your fundraiser

Click the ‘Start a JoyFund’ button and answer a few questions to get started. Add a photo or video for your fundraiser and tell your story.

Choose who you’re raising funds for — yourself or someone else
Select your occasion: birthday, wedding, graduation, memorial, or other
Add a cover photo that represents your cause

Tell your story

In your fundraiser description, share the reason you are fundraising in 1-3 paragraphs. Add details about who or what you’re fundraising for and how funds will be used.

Be specific about the need you’re addressing

If you already know someone specific who’s sick and needs support, check the box to let us know — you’ll be asked for their name, phone number, and a brief description of their situation. This information stays private and is only used by our social workers to follow up and confirm the need.

Set your goal

Choose your fundraising target and pick an end date for your campaign. We’ll suggest a goal amount based on similar successful campaigns, but you can always choose a different amount.

Review everything before it goes live. Check your story, photos, and goal amount. You can still make changes at this stage.

Publish with a starting contribution

To publish your campaign, you’ll donate at least 10% of your goal yourself. This isn’t a fee — it’s what gets your campaign listed on the JoyFund landing page and Explore section.

This initial contribution shows donors you’re committed to the cause and helps build trust with potential supporters.

Share your campaign

Once published, share your campaign URL with friends, family, and your community — on social media, WhatsApp, email, or wherever your circle gathers.
