Terms of Service
Effective Date: June 2, 2026
JoyFund is a transparent digital platform operated by Solidarity Health Bridge. We digitise the traditional Cameroonian culture of community mutual aid to create a People's Health Insurance Fund (PHIF) dedicated to maternal healthcare for vulnerable women across Cameroon.
1. Overview
By accessing or using JoyFund, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the platform on behalf of a hospital, organisation, or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these terms.
2. User Roles & Accounts
JoyFund serves several categories of users, each with specific responsibilities and obligations:
- DonorsIndividuals who create JoyFund campaigns for celebrations (birthdays, weddings, graduations, etc.) or contribute to existing campaigns.
- Social WorkersVerified professionals responsible for identifying, enrolling, and verifying the vulnerability of beneficiaries in accordance with our eligibility criteria.
- Hospital PartnersHealthcare facilities that accept JoyFund vouchers. This includes Hospital Administrators who manage staff accounts and Receptionists who validate care vouchers at the point of care.
- System AdministratorsPlatform overseers responsible for ensuring the integrity, security, and smooth operation of the fund.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
3. Campaigns & Donations
JoyFund campaigns are intended to pool community resources for maternal healthcare and emergency medical assistance. By making a donation, you agree that:
- 1Donations are made voluntarily and, once processed, are non-refundable and non-reversible.
- 2Donations are processed via third-party mobile money providers (MTN MoMo, Orange Money). Any carrier-specific transaction fees are the responsibility of the donor and will be applied at the point of payment.
- 3Fund Allocation: 95% of every donation is allocated directly to the People's Health Insurance Fund (PHIF) to pay for care vouchers. The remaining 5% is retained for platform maintenance, SMS gateway operations, and fraud prevention systems.
- 4Campaign descriptions, images, and other content must be truthful, accurate, and must not infringe upon any third-party intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or applicable laws.
4. The Voucher System & Anti-Fraud
JoyFund employs a secure digital voucher system to ensure that every contribution reaches its intended purpose—verified healthcare services:
- Vouchers are issued via SMS to beneficiaries whose eligibility has been verified by social workers and partner hospitals.
- Vouchers have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for currency, transferred, or sold. They are redeemable exclusively at partner hospitals for specific maternal health or emergency care services.
- Verification PIN: Each beneficiary is assigned a unique 4-digit PIN. Care is confirmed and funds are released to the hospital only after the patient provides this PIN to the receptionist, confirming receipt of services.
- Any attempt to manipulate, forge, or collude to defraud the voucher system will result in immediate termination of access, forfeiture of funds, and referral to applicable law enforcement authorities.
5. Transparency & Reporting
JoyFund is committed to radical transparency. All financial flows—donations received from donors and voucher payments made to hospitals—are logged and displayed in real time on our public Transparency Dashboards. By using the platform, you acknowledge that campaign totals, impact metrics, and fund allocation data are public information.
6. Limitation of Liability
Solidarity Health Bridge / JoyFund provides the technology platform that connects donors with verified healthcare beneficiaries and partner hospitals. We are not a healthcare provider, insurer, or medical facility. We expressly disclaim any liability for the quality, timing, or adequacy of medical care provided at partner hospitals, and for any medical complications, injuries, or outcomes that may arise. All healthcare decisions remain solely between the patient and their medical provider.
7. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our platform. Your continued use of JoyFund after any modification constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify registered users of material changes via email.
If you have any questions regarding these terms, please contact us at support@joyfund.cm.
